Algae substitutes plastic
Algopack (Saint-Malo, Brittany) made the bet to use algae for limiting our dependency to plastic materials. To do so, they created a new material called Algoblend© (50% algae/50% plastic).
Algoblend© belongs to the category of new bioplastics based on innovating ingredients that are 100% natural. It also has the advantage of reducing the possible portion of endocrine disruptors (BPA, phthalates)
The company Algopack, a pioneer in blue chemistry, is studying other development opportunities, such as trying to give value to the Sargassum seaweeds that massively proliferate and beach on the shores of the French overseas territories.
The sand toys are available from our website:
They are made in Brittany and recyclable.
